Playing Roulette Online

When it comes to placing wagers in the inside for Roulette there is one one you should always remember.  Always be playing at a European Roulette table if possible.  There is only one zero instead of two zeroes that at a American Roulette table.  Playing at a American Roulette table will double the house advantage to 5.4% from 2.7%.  Most players would do unthinkable things to able to decrease the house edge by 2.7%.  All you have to do is play at a European Roulette table instead.
Another smart thing to do is play at a casino that offers a bonus that you can use at the Roulette tables. Most casinos won't give you a roulette bonus, so be careful when selecting an online casino if you enjoy playing Roulette online. Top Roulette Bonus

Casino Splendido is the place to play if you are going to be playing Roulette online. You will need to play 30 times or 60 times your bonus depending on whether you are playing American or European Roulette. Playing here while clearing your welcome bonus will greatly decrease the house edge. The house edge will be reduced from 5.4% to 2.1% (American) and 2.7% to 1% (European). Playing American Roulette here is actually a better bet than playing European Roulette at any other online casino, but if you are playing here, playing European Roulette would be the smarter play. Playing here you can expect to lose 1 cent for every $1 wagered, which works out to a $1 loss per spin on a $100 wager.

American and European Roulette Wagers

At many of the casinos you will be able to play American and European Roulette.  The betting limits are the typically the same, no matter which roulette table you are playing.  Which roulette game should you play?  That depends, but if you are planning of wagering on some of the inside wagers, then you will definitely want to play the European Roulette game.  There are two zeroes in American roulette and only one zero in European roulette.  In other words there are 37 numbers the ball can land on in American roulette and only 36 numbers for European roulette.  The pay out is the same for both games, but the house advantage is double for American Roulette.

Inside Wagers
There are many different inside bets for roulette.  If you are placing a inside wager, you might be placing a wager on an individual number including the zero and double zero.  Whenever the ball lands on your number you will be paid 35 times your wager.  You can also straddle between two numbers, you do this by placing the chip on the line between the two numbers.  The pay out is 17 times your wager if any of the two numbers hit.  If you are bit more conservative of a player, you can wager on four numbers, otherwise known as a square bet, by placing a chip at the four corners of the four numbers.  The square bet will pay you out 8 times your wager.  All inside wagers have a house edge of 2.70% for European roulette and 5.40% for American roulette.

Outside Wagers
If you are mostly wagering on the outside bets, then playing American roulette, may not be such a bad idea then.  The house edge for outside bets is 2.70%, which is the same as European roulette.  The pay out structure is quite different though.  Whenever the ball lands on a zero or double zero, you will get half of your bet back.  That may sound incredibly great for the player, but remember there are also two zeroes instead of one, so the house edge balances out.  Deciding which roulette table to place your outside wagers on is more of a matter of preference and less about the house edge.
Both roulette games allow you to wager on an individual color, whether it is odd or even, the three columns and the three dozens.  For the pay outs on each wager, check out the pay out table below.
