    The betting limits depend at which roulette table you are at. The regular American, European and French Roulette tables have a range from $1 to $10 for the inside bets and $1 to $80 on the outside bets.     American roulette and European roulette are very similar, but have some different characteristics. If you are only going to be betting on the inside numbers, then don't even think of playing American roulette. The pay out is the same, but the house advantage is double, because there are two zeroes in American roulette and only one zero in European roulette.
    There are plenty of possible inside bets. You can bet on any individual number and even bet on the zero, or double zero if you missed the point above. When you win you will be paid 35 times your bet. Straddle between two numbers and you will get paid 17 times your bet if any of the two hit. A square bet is when you have the chip on the table where four corners of four numbers meet. This bet will pay out eight times your wager. You can also place your bet on a row or two rows. These bets are placed by straddling the a number and any twelve square. All bets have a house edge of 2.70% or 5.40% if you are playing American roulette.
    Outside bets for both games have the same house edge, but different pay out tables. You will actually get half your bet back whenever the ball lands on a zero or double zero in American roulette. That may sound like a great advantage, but remember there are twice as many zeroes so it balances out. So it is more of a matter of preference when selecting a roulette table to bet the outside bets on.
    Allowed outside bets include betting on a color, odd/even, columns and dozens. A correct bet on a color, or whether or not it will be odd or even, will pay you equal to your bet. A correct wager on a column or a dozen, will reward you double your wager.
